So you're thinking about visiting NPC
AWESOME. Glad you are considering it. We’ve got answers to a couple of questions we think you might ask. If we haven’t covered your questions in the FAQs, please email the pastor at [email protected] or our Admin at j[email protected].
Our COVID-19 response is to offer you the choice of worshiping in-person or online. In-person worship and events follow CDC guidelines and recommendations from the Atlanta Presbytery. You can find our online worship service every Sunday on Youtube and Facebook. Sunday School and Wednesday gatherings are now conducted as ZOOM Meetings. As the status of these events changes frequently, the best place to get up to date information is our Facebook page. facebook.com/norcrosspres
The following are FAQs that have to do with in-person worship which we hope to safely resume as soon as possible.
Q: What’s the dress code?
Every Sunday, you will find people dressed as they feel comfortable. You will find a couple of folks in ties (the pastor usually wears one). You will find a few folks in dresses (the pastor usually doesn't wear one). You will find more folks in the casual range, from business casual to jeans and flip flops.
Our only requirement is that people attend wearing clothes. We aren't sticklers for many rules, but that is one of them.
Q: What time does it start?
11.00 A.M. is when our celebration of worship begins. There is coffee (and sometimes a treat to eat) available before that. Feel free to grab a cup and come on in the sanctuary.
Q: How long does it last?
We rarely if ever go longer than an hour. Usually we are about 55 minutes or so.
Q: Where do my children go?
Wherever you and they are comfortable. For more detailed info on that, find our Kids Corner page.
Q: What do I need to know about Presbyterians?
As much or as little as you want to. Mostly you need to know that you are welcome here no matter what your background or if you pray debts or trespasses, or don’t even know that reference. Nobody is grading you on any of this, so don’t worry about getting it just right or doing it exactly how you think we do. Come as YOU are, not how you think we want you to be.
We welcome any and all people. Our invitation statement is “Come as you are, you won’t be a stranger long.” We mean that. Or at least we try really hard to live into that.
You don’t need to pretend to be anything or anyone that you aren’t. Come just as you are.
We view ourselves as a small sample of God’s family. So we get to know each other pretty well. Come as you are and find a fun eclectic group of folks that will join you in your journey.
Q: What goes on in worship?
For more info, see our Worship page. We also make our bulletin pretty detailed, so that you can follow it as we go, with most of the words printed in it (or if you want to bring your tablet and follow along electronically, help save the planet, there are even more words printed in it). We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month. And on the third Sunday of the month, our service has a more contemporary flair with more modern music and the sermon is just a likely to be a talk led by one of our members as it is a traditional sermon by Pastor Matt!
